Anti-bedsore systems

Anti-bedsore systems

Anti-bedsore systems are medical devices specially designed for the prevention and treatment of bedsores in patients who are bedridden for a long time and have little or no mobility.

Usually, such systems consist of a sectional air mattress and a compressor for pressure regulation. Anti-decubitus mattresses can be adapted to most beds and patient conditions.

When choosing the components of the system, it is necessary to take into account the stage of development of bedsores, the physical condition of the patient himself, his morphology, weight, and the number of hours spent in bed. Also, it is necessary to clearly observe the technical characteristics of individual medical products.

The first step in the prevention of bedsores is to regularly change the body's support points (on average every three hours) in order to limit long-term compression of blood vessels near bones and joints and improve blood supply to tissues.

In the treatment of stage 2, 3 or 4 bedsores, a properly selected anti-bedsore system can be one of the important elements of the therapeutic process, but in combination with others.

When choosing an anti-bedsore mattress and a compressor for it, be sure to contact specialized specialists and follow the technical requirements specified in the instructions for medical products.
