Operating room

Operating room trolleys are specialized mobile equipment designed to organize the workspace of the surgical team and anesthesiologists and ensure strict sterility.

Depending on their functional purpose, several types of mobile tables and trolleys are used in operating rooms:

• Instrument-bearing surgical tables: Made entirely of stainless steel (most often medical grade AISI 304). They feature open shelves with profiled sides that prevent sterile instruments from falling during surgery.

• Anesthesia trolleys: Multifunctional systems with multiple drawers of varying sizes, medication dividers, a central lock, and holders for additional equipment (such as oxygen cylinders or stands).

• Manipulation tables: Versatile models made of composite materials (stainless steel, aluminum, polypropylene) for storing consumables, syringes, and infusion sets.

Key Requirements for Operating Room Equipment

When selecting an operating room trolley, consider the following criteria:

1. Materials: Surfaces must be resistant to regular exposure to corrosive disinfectants.

2. Mobility: Wheels should be antistatic, self-aligning, leave minimal marks on the floor, and have reliable individual or central brakes.

3. Ergonomics: Side rails on tabletops, no sharp corners, and quiet drawer guides enhance safety and comfort during surgical procedures.
